Supply Chain Engineer (Ref# SCE126PS)

Work Location: Troy, MI and relocation required to various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.
Job Duties: Responsible for data analysis, process improvement, and cost reduction, aiming to enhance operational efficiency, optimize logistics, inventory optimization, and improve supply chain processes. Use SAP and supply planning skills to optimize the flow of materials, information, and services across the organization. Monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) continuously for inventory management and formulating strategic plans based on the gathered data. Prepare, validate, and publish monthly KPI, which includes cost saving report with reference to commodities supplied to clients. Analyze usage patterns to prevent inventory waste by implementing strategies for slow-moving and obsolete items. Responsible for analyzing data, working closely with data owners and analytics team and ensure timely availability of metrics. Provide information, documentation, and training with launch of new supply chain initiatives to existing team members and customer sites for new launches when required. Involved in the SWAT (Spares Warranty & Asset Tracking) program which includes more visibility and accountability on where, how, and when spare parts are utilized and on the lifecycle of each individual component. Use SAP and Power BI for data analysis and trend forecasting to gain insights into material usage patterns and trends. Track the warranty and perform root cause analysis on failed parts. Build relationship between customer and supplier for better understanding of the project. Assist logistics process for the development of repairs, inventory maintenance, manufacturing, shipment and delivery, and returns on products. Perform Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) to ensure products meet their capabilities as per customer requirements. Generate weekly reports, dashboards, and customized summary reports for open orders. Enter concerns into Corrective Action database – 5 Whys, 8D, Kaizen, Fishbone, I-chart.
Requirements: This position requires a Master’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field. Plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation including Operations Engineer or related experience. 40hrs/week.

Mechanical Engineer (Ref# ME129TD)

Job Duties: Help cross-functional teams in conducting repair supplier readiness reviews, supporting the development and implementation process for a supplier, and providing part-rebuilding requirements and specifications to the suppliers. Lead weekly open order review meetings with process assurance teams to monitor customer commitments, track delivery, quality, and performance and ensure alignment with production schedules to replenish the stock back into spare parts inventory. Perform root cause analysis, problem-solving, continuous and corrective, and preventive action activities on failed products to ensure customers have insight into product failure trends. Conduct failure trend analysis for sample components and find the root cause using tools like 8D, fishbone, stress analysis to evaluate failures and recommend effective engineering solutions for defective components. Conduct failure investigation activities such as detailed data analysis, part teardown inspections, stress analysis, and failure mode identification. Develop a technical proposal detailing all processes and parts required to repair and/or rebuild the failed product. Refine the repair and/or rebuild processes to include detailed component-level requirements to capture all costs. Analyze labor time, tooling, and overhead associated with each step of the rebuild process. Prepare cost proposals utilizing elements provided by operations, QA, purchasing, engineering, and finance. Prepare a cost roll-up of the entire process capturing materials, labor, and overhead. Streamline the repair process and work scope for each failed part. Responsible for release of BOM, DVP&R or PVP&R, and other documents. Coordinate with internal Quoting and accounting teams to streamline RFQ responses and ensure timely delivery quotes to customers and less lead time. Finalize and discuss engineering documentation including Bill of Materials (BOM), part enhancements, and reports (DVP&R and PVP&R) with customers. Conduct regular follow-ups with customers on their proposed estimates. Responsible for analyzing CAD data and drawings for common and repeat failures. Proficient in AutoCAD to prepare system layouts and communicate the drawings between customers and suppliers. Define and obtain engineering information like GD&T required for component repair and/or rebuild completion. Conduct continuous improvement programs with partner suppliers to review documents such as PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, and product DV/PV. Work cross-functionally with product engineering, quality, and procurement for sourcing to a qualified supplier and get quotes for rebuild and OEM standard testing of the product. Work with existing suppliers on improving quality processes as well as determining the root cause of any quality issues using tools like 8D, 5Y, and other Six Sigma tools to develop and implement a corrective action plan for performance improvement. Participate in specification, design, testing, and deployment of future changes and upgrades within the JunoEdge software. Provide information, documentation, and training with the launch of new supply chain initiatives to our existing team members and various customers for continued training and best practice replication when required. Prepare, validate, and publish the repair/rebuild technical test specification report of failed products and communicate it to the internal team and suppliers. Prepare customized reports such as Cost Savings, Vendor Performance, Product Reliability, Turnaround Time, and Key Performance Indicator (KPI).
